The Vernon Township Fire Department is a unified collaboration of the townshipβs four proud volunteer fire companiesβeach with a long-standing tradition of service, bravery, and community commitment. Together, we provide comprehensive fire protection, emergency response, and public safety services to the residents, businesses, and visitors of Vernon Township, New Jersey.
With stations strategically located throughout the township, our combined force ensures rapid, efficient, and effective response to a wide range of emergencies, including structure fires, brush fires, motor vehicle accidents, hazardous materials incidents, and technical rescues. We are a 100% volunteer-based department made up of dedicated individuals who selflessly give their time and skills to protect our community, day and night.
Vernon Township Volunteer Fire Department
Coverage Area: Vernon Valley, and assists the other three departments with direct response in their areas.
McAfee Fire Department
Coverage Area: McAfee, including Scenic Lakes, Cedar Ridge, Sun Valley, and Great Gorge condominiums.
Highland Lakes Fire Department
Coverage Area: Highland Lakes, including Barry Lakes, Lake Wanda, Laurel Lake, Cliffwood Lake, Wawayanda State Park, and the Vernon section of the Warwick Turnpike.
Pochuck Valley Fire Department
Coverage Area: Pochuck Valley, including Lake Wallkill, Lake Glenwood, Lake Panorama, and Tall Timbers.
